Great Yarmouth fighter Mikie Webber-Kane will fight his final six-rounder of the year later this month before a title fight.

Webber-Kane will have his last run-out on December 8 in Norwich, with talks on-going as he looks to step up a gear.

“This will be Mikie's last run-out and then the next fight will be for a title," confirmed trainer Graham Everett.

“What we've done since his draw for the Southern Area is we've kept him busy with a couple of fights which keeps him in top shape. He been sparring with Ryan Walsh a lot, which has been really beneficial for him, and (trainer) Tony Norman has been doing a good job with him in Yarmouth, so it's all good.

“We’re in the process of working on what his next fight will be after Norwich, but it will be a good fight on a good show.”

Thetford’s Roni Dean has had to pull out of the Christmas show

“She’s got a shoulder and a wrist injury, which probably comes from the last fight at Ipswich,” said Everett. “We've taken the decision because it's not worth taking the risk. She's now ready to fight for a title and I'm pretty sure early new year, spring time, she will be boxing for a title. We're not going to jeopardise that - there are no shortcuts, there are no risks.

“Between us all, she’s done very well so the decision’s been made to pull her out and just get her right, and we go from there.”

The December 8 bill, at the Holiday Inn North, will also include Tommy Petchell, from Cambridge, ex-Norwich Lads’ Club fighter Cullum Faherty and Eryk Ciureja.

“Really pleased with Tommy,” said Everett. “He's been training over here for a few weeks now. I've really enjoyed working with Tommy. He's a good lad, with a good fan base. He's a good acquisition to the gym.

“Cullum had a good debut win. He's quite an exciting, quite lively boxer. He is a work in  progress but I’m enjoying working with him.”
