Great Yarmouth boxer Mikie Webber-Kane has soared in the national rankings after his "best performance yet".
It was an eighth win on the trot for the 24-year-old whose most recent bout saw him fight in front of a packed crowd at York Hall in London on April 28.
This was his third trip to the home of British boxing in less than six months and his first contest to be broadcast on live TV.
Winning by knockout in the fifth round of the six-round showdown, Webber-Kane was up against Stockport’s Sam Melville.
From round one Webber-Kane, who trains under the wing of Yarmouth’s Tony Norman and Norwich’s Graham Everett, dictated the pace with his jab and body work.

In the fifth round he landed a flush overhand right that stumbled Melville before finishing off the match with a right uppercut that put his opponent on the floor.
The ref immediately waved the fight off and Webber-Kane halted his celebration while Melville was taken to the doctor.
The win sees Webber-Kane, who also runs Legends Gym on Steam Mill Lane, move to number 23 in the UK rankings and edge towards a much-anticipated area title fight.
A previous victory over Christian Narvarez prompted talk of titles down the line for the young boxer.
Tony Norman, coach at Spartans Boxing Club, said: “Mikie trains hard every day and never questions anything. A win like this was coming, we just needed an opponent who was going to have a real go to get the best out of him.”
Graham Everett said the performance was “controlled” and showed “a very clinical finish”.
Webber-Kane will be boxing again in June.
Mr Everett said: “We will be looking to continue the progress and build from September onwards.”
