A 31-year-old will go on trial next week accused of the murder of another man following an assault in Norfolk.
Martin Montgomery has denied murder following an attack on Nigel Mazs, a man in his 50s, who was found with serious injuries, in Regent Road, Great Yarmouth.
It followed an assault believed to have taken place inside a communal area in a block of flats at Malakoff Close shortly before 12.10pm on December 22 last year.
Mr Mazs was taken to hospital after the incident but died as a result of his injuries on January 4.
Norwich Crown Court on Thursday for a pre-trial review ahead of the trial which is due to start on Monday.
Montgomery, who has admitted manslaughter, appeared atThe hearing heard the trial could last up to three weeks.
Montgomery, of Russell Road, Yarmouth, had initially been charged with inflicting grievous bodily harm (GBH) with intent following the attack but was later charged with murder after Mr Mazs died.
Will Carter appeared for the prosecution while John Morgans represents Montgomery.
