A young girl allegedly raped by a man in the toilet of a Norwich-bound train described her attacker as a “stinky bum bum head” and said she was assaulted "maybe a jillion times".

Norwich Crown Court has heard the girl, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was under 13 when she was sexually assaulted several times by Daniel Russell, 38, on train journeys.

She said he had done things to her "a lot more than lots" and maybe "a jillion times".

She said he “took me in the toilet” on the train.

When in the cubicle he told her if she did not do the things he wanted her to do then he would "kill the babies" of a horse called Cookie she liked at an animal sanctuary.

She said: “I didn’t want them to die.”

She said what he did and made her do was “so disgusting”.

She said he also showed her videos of teenage girls and other adults “doing stuff” and wanted her to do the same to him.

She said: “I think I’m too young to do what he’s forcing me to do."

When asked by police how doing what she did made her feel, she replied “a bit sad”.

After describing incidents on the Norwich-Ely line, she said such things "sometimes" happened on a second train, from Norwich to Yarmouth, but "not a lot".

The girl said if he was "really angry" he would do things to her on the second train as well as on the first rail journey.

The girl told officers the man would "drag me into the toilets" where the "gross" things happened.

She said she would come out "crying" and others would see her "crying next to the toilets".

She said the man "made people sad".

The court has heard Russell was initially arrested after police became aware of indecent images on an iPad belonging to him in January 2021.

Following his arrest, others were spoken to including the mother of the girl, who had contacted the authorities after her daughter described Russell doing "gross" things with her.

Russell, of Tolhouse Street, Great Yarmouth, has denied two counts of rape of a child under 13.

He has also pleaded not guilty to causing a child to watch a sexual act and making indecent images of children.

The trial continues.
