A father of twins has been spared jail for carrying a knife in a Norfolk town.
Nathan Luxton, 35, was arrested for carrying the pointed blade after he was searched by police officers during an incident in Great Yarmouth in May.
Luxton, of Copperfield Avenue in Great Yarmouth, pleaded guilty to the offence at an earlier hearing.
Appearing today (November 1) at Great Yarmouth Magistrates' Court for sentencing, Luxton's probation officer said the arrest was a "wake-up call" for him.
They added that at the time of his arrest, "life was not as it is now" for Luxton who is no longer using alcohol or drugs and he is now "focussed on his role as a father".
His defence said that "though he had a knife on him he had no intention of using it".

Magistrates sentencing Luxton retired to discuss whether a custodial sentence would be necessary due to the seriousness of the charge.
Upon returning they handed him a four month jail sentence, suspended for 12 months.
He was ordered to pay a total of £239 in court charges and they also ordered the destruction of the seized weapon.
