Punters at a coastal pub will soon be able to enjoy a pint while their pet gets pampered after plans for a dog grooming parlour were approved.
The Mariners Compass in Gorleston will turn a section of its dining area into the new facility.
Members of Great Yarmouth's development committee approved the scheme this week for the pub, situated on the corner of Middleton Road and Suffield Road.
Just one dog at a time will be able to visit the parlour for a grooming session and it will be run on an appointment-only basis.
The idea was celebrated as a way of helping keep the pub viable while creating a new business that will contribute to the local economy.
There were no objections received aside from calls to revise the car park layout in order to accommodate customers visiting the parlour.
The Mariners Compass was built in the 1930s and is known for its mock Tudor appearance.
It already describes itself as a dog-friendly pub but has now taken this one step further.
