A caravan park in a Norfolk village has had plans approved to build 33 static caravan pitches.

The owner of Breydon Water Holiday Park at Butt Lane in Burgh Castle, near Great Yarmouth, asked the borough council for permission to change the use of an existing field from touring caravan use to stationary caravans.

It has also been given permission to demolish a toilet block and build an access road.

Documents by the applicant state that the change will "better meet the demand of holidaymakers".

"The further investment will incorporate additional facilities and activities rather
than additional accommodation.

"However before the investment can be made the level of static accommodation must be increased as proposed."

As part of approving the plans, the council said that work must begin within three years, the units must be used for "holiday purposes only" and not be used as a "person's sole or principal residence".
