A business park in the Broads is locked in a dispute with planners over the use of external lighting.

After being granted permission in April for a raft of developments at Hall Farm Business Park, on Martham Road in Rollesby, Chris Tooke is now appealing a condition that bans outdoor lighting without further approval.

Planners at Great Yarmouth Borough Council insist the restriction is vital to protect the area's dark sky character and local wildlife corridors.

But Mr Tooke argues that the site already has "numerous amounts of lighting".

He has taken an appeal against the condition to the Planning Inspectorate, a government agency which can overturn decisions where it thinks councils have gone against planning law.

Mr Tooke has been given permission to retain four units and erect or complete three new buildings for storage, workshops and office use.

Hall Farm Business Park, which was established in 2000, is home to a number of businesses including Skippers Print and Design, K&A Cars and Factory Blinds Rollesby.
