A shopping centre in a seaside town has introduced a whole new car parking system and changed charges.

The Market Gates Shopping Centre in Great Yarmouth made the changes at the start of the month and has a new ANPR system, called Horizon Parking, to monitor the car park.

It allows shoppers to pay with a card, contactless, and by cash. In addition, it accepts pre-payments.

The parking rates have changed slightly, costing £1.20 for up to an hour, £2 for up to two hours, £3 for up to three hours, £4.20 for up to four hours.

Among the stores within the shopping centre are Boots, Superdrug, Trespass, Starbucks, Burgerking, Poundland, JD Sports and Pandora.

The centre is open seven days a week.

From Monday to Saturday, it opens from 9am to 5.30pm and on Sundays and bank holidays the shopping centre is open from 10am to 4pm.

However, the car park opening times are slightly different.

From Monday to Saturday, the car park opens from 8am to 7pm and on Sunday and bank holidays the car park opens from 9am to 5pm.
