A Norfolk wildlife park has unveiled a vital new facility to aid visitors with disabilities.

Thrigby Hall Wildlife Gardens announced the successful installation of a Changing Places toilet, an amenity designed to support individuals with profound multiple learning disabilities and those experiencing limitations to their mobility.

Unlike standard accessible toilets, the Changing Places loo provides changing benches and hoists, accommodating more than one individual and thereby reducing risks associated with unsafe changing practices.

The facility was installed with funds from the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities program, obtained via Great Yarmouth Borough Council's support.

Thrigby Hall hopes that this new provision will dramatically enhance the park experience for individuals who significantly require these resources.

Pupils from John Grant School, Caister, officially opened the facility along with Emma Spagnola, known as the Norfolk Loo Lady, and Fred Nunn from Innova Care Concepts.

Changing Places Awareness Day occurs on July 19 to highlight the campaign's achievements and raise awareness about how these facilities tangibly enhance people's lives worldwide.
