Live world record attempts, such as a stunning leap between towers by British champion cyclist Andrei Burton, add extra thrill.

Hippodrome impresario Peter Jay said: "Being able to witness a world record attempt live and in person is something very special."

Promising an experience "that has to be seen in person to be believed," Champions runs until September 15.
