A long-standing governor has signed off from his duties at East Coast College.
Rob Evans, who helped shape the college through significant growth and evolution, attended his final board meeting earlier this week.
Mr Evans was instrumental when he was chair of the former Great Yarmouth College in the merger with Lowestoft College in 2017 and led the development and evolution of the now-named East Coast College.
His time as governor was marked with substantial progress, including the college achieving its merger objectives and earning Good ratings from Ofsted and in a financial health report.
He departs as new developments are on the brink of completion like a new adult higher education centre at The Place in Great Yarmouth, coinciding with the redevelopment of the former Palmers store.
Plans are also underway to establish a state-of-the-art campus on the college’s Great Yarmouth site at Suffolk Road.
The Lowestoft Campus also anticipates a boost with new adult and estate developments.
As a parting gift from the college, Mr Evans received an ‘East Coast College log,’ which was made by the college’s welding team to symbolise his years of commitment.
Alan Debenham, who served as a governor since the merger, has also exited the board.
Mr Debenham had previously worked as an associate governor and was part of the former Lowestoft College Board.

His tenure saw him prioritise the needs of the people through the creation of the board's People Committee.
David Blake, East Coast College chairman, said: “Rob and Alan have been amazing governors and have both always embodied the college’s values of aspirational, respectful, professional and successful.
"I and the board cannot thank them enough for all their hard work and commitment and I know they will be missed.”
