A coastal village pub is cracking down on unruly behaviour after reports of punters swinging on lights during England's last game at the Euros.

Management at The Gate in Caister said they will operate a ‘no wristband no entry’ policy after damage was caused to the pub during Saturday’s quarter-finals which saw England beating Switzerland on penalties.

(Image: Bradley Collyer) The pub announced on its Facebook page: "Thank you to everyone who has joined us so far for Euros 2024 and to support England with us, we have enjoyed your custom and the atmosphere. 

"However, going forward for the remainder of the games there will be some slight changes unfortunately due to damage caused to our pub during today's game."

The customer notice explained the remaining England games will be wristband entry only and on a first come first serve basis with use of the front door on the High Street only. 

Once the pub has reached its maximum capacity, people will be barred from entry.

Wristbands will be available to collect from bar staff Tuesday evening onwards up until the England v Netherlands kick-off on Wednesday night.
