Last weekend's Caister Festival has been hailed a resounding success by delighted organisers.

Starting at lunchtime on Saturday, by 2pm throngs of people had congregated in front of the main stage.

Audiences were entertained into the evening by four East Anglian bands and a female solo artist, their acts punctuated by warm sunshine.

Sunday's heavy rain did little to dissuade merry festival-goers who eagerly awaited the reopening of the festival gates at 10am.

As the day's climate gradually improved, various local groups graced the main ring while a dog competition occurred in an adjoining ring.

The two-day event has been acclaimed as the best edition to date, with organisers saying it was great to see so many people enjoying themselves

Early plans are already under consideration to ensure next year's Caister Festival is even bigger and better.
