Three people needed rescuing after crashing a boat into a riverbank on the Norfolk Broads.

The cruiser was left "high and dry" after running aground between Berney Arms Windmill and Reedham.

Crashing on to 'The Island', a large area of marshland bordered by the rivers Yare, Waveney and the New Cut, the three passengers were left stranded for several hours.

The crew attempted to tow the cruiser back into the water and a line was passed across.

After several attempts, the boat became free and was floated back on to the open water.

Once back on the river, the skipper restarted the engine and the vessel was escorted back to the Goodchild Marine.
