Transport bosses have recommended a 30-mile diversion as one of Great Yarmouth's busiest roads will be closed for ten nights for "remedial works".

The A47 Acle Straight from the Vauxhall roundabout to the Acle roundabout will be closed on weeknights from 8pm to 6am starting from Monday.

National Highways announced the closure was necessary "to do some remedial work to bring the road surface up to the required standard" following road resurfacing at parts of the A47 outside Vauxhall Holiday Park.

The agency said both lanes will be closed each weeknight until Friday, June 14, and suggested drivers travelling from Great Yarmouth to Acle take a 30-mile diversion on the A143 to Beccles and then on A146 towards Norwich before heading to Acle on the A47 from Trowse Newton.
