They are dedicated to tackling crime - but what happens when the police themselves are the victims?
Over the past three years, at least five items including kit bags and a holster have been stolen from either the station or from police cars in Great Yarmouth.
For each year from 2021 to 2023, officers in the town recorded one theft in which the force itself was the target.
In 2021, a group of youth suspects broke into a police vehicle and were seen removing items before running off.
It remains unknown what was taken during the incident.

A year later, a former police officer reported that their torch, gloves and holster were stolen from Great Yarmouth police station.
And in 2023, a thief stole the kit bags belonging to two officers from an unmarked and unoccupied car while the officers were on duty.
The suspect was detained and the property was recovered.
