A 40-year-old man has been charged with the murder of a woman in Great Yarmouth.
Officers were made aware of an incident on Princes Road just after 9am on Saturday after receiving information that the body of a woman was inside the property.
The body of a woman believed to be in her 30s was discovered at the address.
An initial Home Office post mortem examination was conducted and while further tests are required, findings show the woman's death was consistent with compression to the neck.
On Saturday a man was arrested on suspicion of murder and taken to Great Yarmouth police station for questioning.
Adam Barnard, of Princes Road, Great Yarmouth, has been charged with the woman's murder.
He has been remanded in custody and is due to appear at Norwich Magistrates on Monday, January 22.
The Princes Road address will remain cordoned off into Monday.
Police are continuing to appeal for any witnesses who may have seen or heard any suspicious activity in the area to come forward.
