Tall smoke plumes could be seen rising from the property.
It is believed nobody was injured and the fire was confined to the conservatory and garage.
Neighbour Sam Carpenter told the BBC: "We went out our backdoor and thought there might have been a bonfire but realised it was my neighbour's garage.
"I ran back inside and called 999 and my wife went round and knocked to get the homeowner out.
"Then we got out of our home safe."
