A man hoping to build a pair of bungalows has seen his bid rejected by planners.
Brian Newson was seeking permission to build the two dwellings and garages on land off Low Road in Martham.
But Great Yarmouth Borough Council said the proposal was an "inefficient use of land" and was in an "unsustainable location" - as it was not linked to the village by footpaths and future residents would rely on a private car.

It also said a proposed access road would generate "significant levels of noise and disruption" to neighbours in the bungalows immediately to the east of the site.
Two neighbours had objected to the plans over concerns about a number of matters including loss of privacy, loss of a view, as well as increased noise and disturbances.
The application site consisted of a paddock adjacent and to the rear of Leeway, a detached bungalow dating from the 1960s.
To the east of the site, a development of 80 houses is currently being built, with most of the dwellings now occupied.
