A man has been charged after a serious assault in Great Yarmouth that left a victim in critical condition.
It comes after a man in his 50s was found with serious injuries in Regent Road at 12.07pm on Friday.
Officers believe the assault took place inside a communal area in a block of flats on Malakoff Close.
Two men, aged in their 20s and 30s, were arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm (GBH) on Friday night and were taken to Great Yarmouth Police Station for questioning.
Officers were granted extra time to question both suspects after applying to magistrates for a warrant of further detention on Saturday night.
Martin Montgomery, 31, of Russell Road, Yarmouth, is accused of GBH with intent.

He has been remanded into custody to appear at Norwich Magistrates Court on Boxing Day.
A man in his 20s arrested on suspicion of GBH has been released on bail with conditions until March while enquiries continue.
Police cordons in Malakoff Close, Ordnance Road and Russell Road have been lifted.
The victim remains in a critical condition in Addenbrooke's Hospital.
