A social media post by Great Yarmouth Police has given an insight into the work of officers on a typical community patrol shift.
The post shows how community policing team officers on patrol in St Peters Street had to deal with a variety of issues and assisted colleagues dealing with incidents at the James Paget University Hospital.
It said: "During their shift they escorted a drunk man having medical problems to hospital; provided safeguarding to a homeless, vulnerable lady; helped other officers with a mental health episode outside the JP hospital; and supported hospital security colleagues with a difficult patient.
"While out and about they also talked to members of the public about 'StreetSafe' - a national website where anyone can anonymously report areas where they feel unsafe."
