There are plenty of places to enjoy a taste of the sea in Norfolk, from Cromer crab to plenty of other fish caught on our doorstep.

Here are the seven top places to grab a seafood treat according to Tripadvisor.

1. Bure River Cottage Restaurant

Where: 27 Lower Street, Horning, NR12 8AA

Bure River Cottage Restaurant is a solely seafood restaurant serving fresh fish supplied locally from Norfolk and Suffolk.

Prices range from £33 to £133 and the restaurant is located a short walk from the river Bure and the public moorings.

Offerings include lobster, scallops, salmon, sea bream, crab, cockles and more.

2. Wells Crab House

Where: 38 Freeman Street, Wells-next-the-Sea, NR23 1BA

Wells Crab House offer a monthly menu of seasonal dishes featuring crab, lobster and oysters.

There are seafood platters available and the owners use their travels for dish inspiration. 

Takeaway is available for pre-order and one meat and vegetarian option is on the menu.

3.  Chico's Restaurant

Where: 60 Marine Parade, Great Yarmouth, NR30 2EJ

The chef serves up fresh seafood including lobsters, sea bream, sea bass, crab claw and king prawns.

There are meals to share including seafood platters, surf and turf with lobster and tomahawk.

They cook to order and close when everyone leaves.

4. Upstairs at No.1 Cromer

Where: New Street, Cromer, NR27 9HP

The takeaway and restaurant is run by Spencer Gray, Tracy Blackiston, Rachel Gray and Galton Blackiston, plus head chef Matty Adcock.

Mr Adcock's innovative approach to seafood dishes has made No.1 a sought-after destination, using fresh, locally-sourced ingredients.

5. The White Horse Restaurant

Seafood lovers can enjoy panoramic views of the marshland coastline while tucking into the catch of the day. 

The gastropub has won countless awards, and sits within the picturesque setting of the north Norfolk coast.

Colourful seafood platters adorn the menu alongside a cocktail list.

6. Rocky Bottoms

Where: Cromer Road, West Runton, Cromer, NR27 9QA

Found between East and West Runton, Rocky Bottoms is famed for its seafood dishes, but also offers multiple choices for vegan and vegetarian diners.

Husband and wife team Ali and Richard Matthews, a local fishing family, took on the "simple shellfish canteen" in north Norfolk in 2008.

Mr Matthews, who has been fishing for 46 years, catches all the crab and lobster off the coast of Weybourne with son Winston before it is served up just hours later.

7. Sands Restaurant

With "arguably the best views in North Norfolk", the restaurant has a panoramic vista over the harbour where diners can watch fishing boats come and go.

A full a la carte dinner menu features locally-caught seafood and lunch includes the traditional favourite of battered cod and chips.
