Norfolk trains cancelled for five consecutive weekends

Network Rail will be conducting essential track maintenance and timber renewals for five consecutive weekends from October 7 through to November 5.

The works will see services cancelled between Norwich and Cromer, Sheringham, Great Yarmouth, and Lowestoft.

Bus replacement services will be available for Greater Anglia passengers travelling between Norwich and Sheringham each weekend except for October 14 and 15, when the railway will remain open.

Buses will call at all stations except Gunton, which Network Rail said is inaccessible by roads.

On the weekends of October 28 and 29, and November 4 and 5, buses will also replace trains between:

- Norwich and Great Yarmouth, calling at Brundall Gardens, Brundall, Lingwood, and Acle

- Lingwood and Reedham, calling at Cantley

- Norwich and Lowestoft, calling at Oulton Broad North

Buckenham, Haddiscoe, and Somerleyton stations also cannot be served by rail replacement buses due to inaccessible roads.

"Completing these tasks will directly contribute to the reliability of train journeys and safety which is our top priority.
