An academy for people looking to enter the social care sector is launching in Great Yarmouth.
The adult social care academy will be held at East Coast College on Suffolk Road from Monday October 2 until Friday October 6.
The free event is open to anyone who wants to work in adult care but would like some basic training and a better understanding of the sector before applying for jobs.
The academy's programme will consist of a week’s training at the college, and an online event the following week for participants to meet and be interviewed by local care employers with current staff vacancies.
Angela Steggles, chief operating officer at Norfolk and Suffolk Care Support, said: "This is an excellent opportunity for people in Norfolk who would like to work in social care.
"Care work is so rewarding, and if you want a job that can make a real difference in people’s lives, it is definitely the sector to join."
