Supermarket giant Tesco is set to open its new store inside a former Gorleston pub.
The new Tesco Express store on Lowestoft, based inside the former Albion pub building, is set to welcome customers tomorrow (September 7).
The supermarket chain had originally applied for an alcohol licence at the 137-year-old pub back in October 2021.
Gorleston resident Andrew Old has captured images of the development, which has seen many of the pub's historic features kept amongst the store's new branding.
Mr Old, who used to drink at The Albion in the late 1990s, said while it was sad to see the pub gone, he was happy to see the empty building being put to use.
"Tesco has kept the outside of the shop very much the same as the old pub, which is great to see, " he said.
"As the building isn't listed, they could have just knocked the old pub down and built a flat roof shop."
The new Tesco Express on Lowestoft Road opens at 10am on Thursday. From Friday, it will be open seven days a week from 7am until 10pm.
