The East of England Ambulance Service will join a convoy that takes disabled and disadvantaged children for a day out at a theme park.
From 10am on Sunday, August 27, the East Coast Truckers Children's Charity will be setting off on its 36th annual convoy from Norwich to Pleasurewood Hills, Lowestoft.
Staff from East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust (EEAST) will form part of the convoy of 98 lorries and police escort on Bank Holiday Sunday.
Teresa Church, a hearing chair at the ambulance service, said: “EEAST has been involved with the charity since 2005, and it’s an absolute pleasure to be part of this joyous event.
“It is very emotional seeing the joy on the children’s faces throughout the day – from travelling in convoy in the trucks to enjoying the attractions at Pleasurewood Hills.
“We are delighted to be involved and our colleagues are thrilled to support the event in their free time.”
An East Coast Truckers spokesperson said: “The support that East of England Ambulance Service and the other Emergency Services give us is invaluable to the success of the convoy."
