A set of amazing drone photographs show how a giant 'walking' jack up barge is working on turbines off Great Yarmouth.

The pictures by Luke Martin show WaveWalker 1 at the Scroby Sands Wind Farm.

The WaveWalker 1 is described as "an innovative eight-legged, self-contained walking jack-up, capable of operating safely and effectively in rough seas, surf zones, on beaches, in shallow transition zones and other intertidal locations".

The self-contained walking jack-up barge has the ability to independently walk into position without the requirement to float.

It is said WaveWalker 1 can ‘step’ over obstacles, meaning that it can be used on beaches and in ecologically sensitive areas.

Its arrival has spurred interest not only from people in the town, but from also Scroby Sands' resident seal population, which can be seen getting up close to the barge's enormous legs which are being are used to propel it from turbine to turbine.

A statement on the company's website says: "From the jetty construction at Hinkley Point C Power Station to drilling and blasting works in Brazil and cable installations in the North Sea, WaveWalker 1 has provided flexible, effective solutions for a variety of marine projects."
