A fleet of former high-speed train carriages is being loaded at Great Yarmouth's Outer Harbour.

The carriages and some power cars are believed to be destined for Mexico and arrived at the harbour by road.

The dock-side activity was captured on a drone controlled by photographer Luke Martin.

They are a mix of East Midlands Railways and London North Eastern Railway stock and the power cars are former Great Western stock.

The carriages were built between 1975-1985 and when coupled up to power cabs could reach speeds of 125mph.

They are widely regarded as the best-ever trains built by British Rail.

The carriages and the several power cabs were being loaded at the port on the BBC Arkhangelsk and are believed to be leaving over the weekend.

Peel Ports was asked to comment on the train carriages and their final destination.

The Outer Harbour accepts vessels up to 220 metres in length and up to 10.5 metres draught at all states of tide.
