Stunning photos of Norfolk churches taken during an annual bike ride have been recognised in a competition.
The Norfolk Churches Trust hosted its annual bike ride last September but has just announced the winners of a photography contest run alongside the event.
Three photos were named competition winners.
One was Julia Hoskins’ photo inside Heydon church, which judges said: “portrayed a feeling of stillness and peace that so many of our lovely old churches have when you enter them”.
Another winner was Duncan Lingard’s shot of Holkham church, which judges said was: “particularly emblematic of our magnificent Norfolk churches which dominate the Norfolk skyline”.
The third winner was Tim Lees’ picture of a flower arrangement for the bike ride at St Botolph’s Church in Limpenhoe.
Runner-up photos were by Mr Lees, David Nice, Kate Griffen and Julia Hoskins.
Moira Morrissey said on behalf of the Norfolk Churches Trust: “The next bike ride is on Saturday, September 9 and marks the 40th anniversary of the event.
“During this time, over £4m has been raised to provide grants to churches throughout Norfolk to fund repairs to the fabric of the churches that are such an important of our landscape and heritage.”
