An optician in Great Yarmouth town centre has re-opened following a £250,000 refit.

Hundreds of residents attended the relaunch of Specsavers in the Market Place on Saturday, July 1, as Mayor of the borough, councillor Penny Carpenter, unveiled the new-look store.

The town branch has been in the Market Place location for thirty years.

The revamped branch includes a new testing room, re-design of the shop floor and new equipment

Martin McCormack, store director, said: "We are delighted with our brand new-look and were overwhelmed by the number of customers who joined the celebrations."

The makeover brings more eye health and audiology services to the town, thanks to the creation of an additional testing room and diagnostics area, including a second Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) scanner.

The OCT scanner produces a structural scan of the eye helping detect a range of eye conditions up to four years earlier than traditional methods.
