Businesses across Great Yarmouth looking to light up the sky are being encouraged to use low-noise fireworks.
In recent years, concerns have been raised about the impact of loud displays on vulnerable individuals, pets and wildlife.
Great Yarmouth Borough Council is now encouraging local suppliers to stock low-noise fireworks.

A council spokesperson said: "As a council, we value the experiences of all our residents and visitors.

"By encouraging businesses to adopt low-noise fireworks, we aim to create a more inclusive atmosphere where everyone can enjoy the celebrations.
“We believe that it is crucial to strike a balance between the excitement of fireworks and the wellbeing of our community members," the spokesperson added.
In March, a meeting of the borough council's environment committee heard that firework displays can have "an adverse effect on the welfare of vulnerable people and animals" and that there have been calls for banning their use.
