A Great Yarmouth mum who lost over six stone and underwent IVF to have a baby is stepping back from work to spend time with the son she always wanted.
Sarah Burbage, from Newtown, has helped more than 70 people lose 10pc of their body weight, carrying on the inspiration she felt on her own weight loss journey that allowed her to qualify for IVF on the NHS.
Now, the Newtown Slimming World consultant is reducing the number of her groups - from three to two - to focus on having more precious moments with her child.
"Being a consultant is more than I ever expected," said Mrs Burbage, 39.
"My groups have achieved so much in 20 months and I am so proud.
"But being a mum is something I have wanted all my life. And for a while, it didn't seem like a possibility."
Mrs Burbage suffered a string of miscarriages and then struggled to conceive when was told she was too big to qualify for IVF on the NHS.
After losing a third of her body weight over two years, she fell pregnant after a first round of fertility treatment at Bourn Hall in Wymondham.
Her son Jack was born in April last year.
For the past several months, the mother-of-one has juggled parenthood with a part-time role as an HR manager as well as her morning and afternoon Slimming World groups.
But she knew something had to give.
"Thinking I couldn't be a mum, to then becoming one has been the best thing in my life," she said.
"But Jack is changing so much so fast. He's now a toddler and our time together is precious.
"I absolutely love helping people change their lives but to do that to my best, I need to acknowledge that my life has also changed."
Mrs Burbage said she remains committed to helping others build healthier lifestyles in her groups at Newtown Methodist Church on Thursdays at 8am and 9.30am.
