A family waiting for the return of their father from a hospital in India have expressed frustration over paperwork problems.

Gorleston man Lenny Wooldridge was supposed to be flown back to the UK earlier this week, bringing an end to three months of "immense" frustration for his relatives.

The 79-year-old has been in hospital in Goa since March 1 with a punctured lung, fractured ribs and severe head trauma following a fall during a holiday.

On Thursday, June 8, his daughter-in-law Susan Wooldridge said: "We have been unable to get Lenny home as yet due to paperwork issues.

"The repatriation company had to fly home yesterday as they had been there a week chasing people with no success."

The company has people in Goa working on the family's behalf in the hope of getting Mr Wooldridge on a flight on Friday, June 16.

"We've never been in a situation like this and would never want to again. The frustration is immense," Ms Wooldridge said.

A fundraiser has raised more than £20,000 toward the cost of bringing Mr Wooldridge home.
