A mother and son duo have gone into business together at Great Yarmouth marketplace.
Crepe Land sells sweet and savoury bites as well as homemade lemonade and bubble tea.
Owned by mother and son duo Maria and Georgi Hristov, Crepe Land was a “logical step” for the pair after their years of experience working in busy kitchens across the country.
They are now celebrating a successful first three months.
Mr Hristov said: “We have worked with food all over the country and we really wanted to introduce something on the new market.”
Mr Hristov said the decision to try their hand at crepes was a no-brainer as he and his mum both love the versatile French pancake.
“Some people are unaware of the savoury flavours which go with crepes,” Mr Hristov said.
“But once they try it, they love it.
“People still seem to have more of a sweet tooth though as our Nutella and banana and lemon sugar varieties are still our most popular.”
The crepe-makers said as summer approaches, business is “getting better and better”.
“In the beginning, like every new business, there were some difficulties,” Mr Hristov said.
“And the weather was our biggest challenge. But now summer is approaching – and good weather is hopefully on the way – I think the town centre will be much busier.
“Especially once the second market phase is complete.”
A deadline for the completion of the market’s second phase has yet to be confirmed. But council leader Carl Smith and Great Yarmouth Labour opposition leader Trevor Wainwright said they expect it to be by the end of the summer.
Crepe Land, which also sells homemade nougat ice cream, American pancakes and waffles, as well as smoothies and milkshakes, is on the eastern side of the market building opposite the old Argos building.
It is open Monday to Friday from 10am until 4pm.
