Planners are looking at a country pub's bid to revamp an outdoor area that has already been given a makeover.

The owners of the Farmers, on West Road in Ormesby, have retrospectively applied to Great Yarmouth Borough Council to redesign the pub's exterior.

The application states the work began in November last year and finished in December.

The scheme included the erection of a wooden gazebo to the rear of the venue and a new designated parking area to the side of the property.

According to the proposal, this would allow a safe space for customers and children to enjoy the newly landscaped recreational area and garden.

The applicants also said that the area that has been redesigned was hardstanding and "of no real use" to customers or the pub.

A decision on the plans is expected by July 3.

Last year, an interior refurbishment saw the pub, previously known as the Jolly Farmers, kitted out with a new kitchen and new toilets.

One reviewer said it was "a beautiful, friendly pub with great food" while another praised its "pleasant surroundings and prompt service".
