Firefighters have tackled a blaze that broke out in a Great Yarmouth building in the early hours of this morning.

Fire crews were called to Nelson Road South at around 12.30am today after reports were received of a building fire. 

The fire was discovered to have broken out at the Victory Hotel, with efforts to fully extinguish it carrying on through the night.

Engines and crews from Acle, Carrow, Gorleston, Great Yarmouth, North Earlham, Martham, Stalham, and Wymondham remain on scene to carry out damping down and hotspot checks.

Cordons are in place around the adjoining streets and a fire ladder with crew can be seen carrying out condition checks.
