The relocating of a Hemsby property following weeks of severe erosion has started.
Recent high tides and strong winds have eaten away at the home of Marrams resident Lance Martin.
With his back door leading directly to a sheer drop, he now has no other choice but to relocate his home.
Ian Brennan, chair of Save Hemsby Coastline, is at the scene.
He said: “If the team can move Lance's home just onto the road for now, it might help.
"The community coming together to help Lance is a triumph of people over nature.
"But none of it needed to happen.
“If they can use it emergency powers now, they could have done it 10 years ago.”
Diggers have arrived and the front of Mr Martin’s home is currently being dug up.
It is expected the whole relocation will take some time.
Today's developments come as Great Yarmouth Borough Council continues to support residents and work with other agencies to tackle the effects of erosion of the dunes at Hemsby.
That includes arranging for rock to be brought by road to Hemsby from nearby Hopton. The plan is then to place the rock on the beach in front of the most at-risk section of road.
Longer-term solutions to the problems of erosion are also being looked at.
