New road safety schemes are to be introduced in almost 100 towns and villages across Norfolk.
The projects, including traffic calming measures, extra signage, bus shelters and new footpaths, form part of Norfolk County Council's parish partnership initiative.
First launched in September 2011, it invites communities to bid for cash to make much-needed improvements to slow down traffic and make towns and villages safer.
A total of £770,000 is earmarked to be spent on 95 schemes across the county, with County Hall putting in just under £345,000 and the Norfolk Safety Camera Partnership £40,556.
The rest of the money comes via match funding from town and parish councils.
Schemes up for funding this year include 13 new bus shelters and 20 vehicle-activated speed signs.
There will also be 15 village 'gateways', which slow down drivers by making clear they are entering a village.
And nine new 'trod paths' - low-cost footpaths, made with recycled road surface material - will be installed.
One community - Lingwood and Burlingham - will be getting an electric vehicle charging point through the scheme. That is the first time the initiative has been used to install such technology.
Graham Plant, the Conservative-controlled council's cabinet member for highways, infrastructure and transport, said: "It’s exciting to see that for the first time this year the scheme will be funding the installation of electric vehicle charging points.
"This shows how our scheme is evolving over the years to keep pace with new demands, our carbon reduction aims, and changes in the way people are travelling.
“These small but important improvements continue to make a difference to local communities and I’m so pleased that we’re able to support this wonderful partnership work in this way.”
The council's cabinet is recommended to approve the latest schemes when it meets on Monday, March 6.
