Enjoying a portion of fish and chips goes hand in hand with a visit to Great Yarmouth for many.
But two young chefs hope to sway people from the British staple to a Japanese delicacy through the opening of the town's first dedicated sushi takeaway restaurant.
Love Sushi was launched on Thursday, February 15, by friends Ricardo Bras and Antonio Gomes who previously worked at the Octopus seafood restaurant until it closed at the start of this month.
While sad to see this well-respected venue shut, it offered the perfect opportunity to go it alone and make their own waves in Norfolk's food scene.
Mr Bras said: "We have been formulating plans to open our own sushi restaurant for a few years but after Octopus closed it seemed like the right time to make this jump on our own.
"There is nowhere serving sushi in the area so we are hoping to introduce people to it as it is something we love.
"We've already had lots of support from our former customers and we are really excited to be open."
The pair, both originally from Portugal, have been working in the industry for a decade.
Their talents in cooking seafood dishes helped make The Octopus one of the hottest tickets in town with people travelling from all over to sample its menu.
They now hope for similar success with Love Sushi where everything is made fresh daily on-site.
Mr Bras added: "We have trained with some of the best sushi chefs in Portugal where sushi is a really popular trend.
"There is so much to it and it is not just raw fish so we hope to change people's minds and for people to love it."
Love Sushi, located in Battery Road, is opening as a takeaway initially and orders can be made through its website and app.
It is open from Wednesday to Sunday between midday and 8pm.
