A police cordon is in place in Great Yarmouth, where forensics officers have been carrying out investigations.
Emergency services have been at the scene on Wellington Road this afternoon (February 8).
A tent had been put up, while the forensics officers carried out their work.
Six police vehicles were parked up, plus a dog unit, while Wellington Road remains closed.
A cordon has been put in place around a supermarket in St Peter's Road and nearby streets.
The incident comes at a time of heightened police activity in the town, after a major incident was declared following the discovery of a Second World War unexploded bomb in the river at the third river crossing construction site.
That has led to the evacuation of several homes, and a heavy police presence in the resort, but mostly concentrated on the other side of the river, around half a mile away.
