The log flume may be leaving the Pleasure Beach in Great Yarmouth - but a series of auctions selling off parts has raised more than £5,000 for local charities.

The amusement park's owners have been taking apart the 33-year-old ride before auctioning off its parts on eBay.

They have now sold everything and raised £5,686.

The money will be donated to six local charities: Shine, Round Table Children's Wish, Centre 81, Mind Norfolk and Waveney, The Well Drop-in Centre in Gorleston, and Great Yarmouth Pathway.

The charities have been invited to the Pleasure Beach on Friday, February 3, when they will each be presented with a cheque worth £947.

The first auction took place at the beginning of December and there were two a week until early January.

The parts have been bought by people all over the country, from Norfolk to Wakefield and to Doncaster.

The remainder of the log flume is due to be demolished next week.
