Children at a Great Yarmouth borough school have made Christmas decorations as part of a scheme to boost pupils' wellbeing.

Wellbeing Ambassadors at Hillside Primary School, in Bradwell, turned their classroom into a Christmas workshop to make tree decorations.

They were used to decorate an Ormiston Families charity Christmas tree displayed at the St Mary-le-Tower Christmas Tree Festival in Ipswich.

Children are trained to become Wellbeing Ambassadors by youth support workers within the Ormiston Families' #WeWill project.

The project supports children and young people across Great Yarmouth to get involved in social action projects and become mentors for other children at school.

Naomi Kent, senior youth support worker at #WeWill, said: “Getting the ambassadors involved in supporting Ormiston Families in this way has been a fantastic example of young people contributing to the wellbeing of the wider community.

“Their own wellbeing was boosted by the decoration-making sessions alongside their friends at school, as well as boosting their confidence by seeing their hard work displayed in such a stunning location."
