Police are continuing to investigate a suspected arson incident at the former home of Gorleston Football Club.

The blaze at Emerald Park, which used to be the home ground of Gorleston FC, destroyed the team's former social club on the night of Sunday, November 13.

Police are treating the fire as a suspected arson incident and say investigations are still ongoing into the circumstances surrounding the blaze.

Great Yarmouth Mercury:

The land is owned by Pleasure and Leisure Limited, run by the Jones family, who have planning permission to build 97 houses at Emerald Park.

The social club was due to demolished last week as part of plans to clear the site for the homes.

Club match secretary David Hardy had said it was heart-breaking to see the former clubhouse destroyed by the fire.

Gorleston Football Club is temporarily playing its home games at Lowestoft Town's ground.
