Christmas has come early to Gorleston with the start of a festive three-day event in the town.

The town's Priory Gardens is hosting a Christmas market until 4pm today (Friday) and from 10am to 4pm on Saturday.

The market then also spills out onto the High Street on Sunday with the day culminating with the town's Christmas lights switch on and fireworks.

The market has wooden chalets with stalls offering food, drink, arts, crafts and gifts.

Children can also post letters in Santa’s post box with their wish lists for Christmas.

On Sunday, the festivities kick up a notch with several fairground rides and the opportunity to visit Santa on his sleigh.

There is also a festive elf trail and a best-dressed elf competition with prizes on offer.

It is being funded by Visit Great Yarmouth with the aim of encouraging more people to “enjoy all that the area has to offer”.
