The Planters trailed at the break through a 13th-minute own goal, but the game really came into life just after the interval.

Jordan Blyth beat the offside trap to lift over the goalkeeper and then Ross King scrambled home from close range to put the Planters ahead within five minutes of the half-time break.

Wivenhoe were given a lifeline with a penalty against Gareth Simpson for hand-ball, with the Planter faithful wondering how he could have got out of the way.

Wivenhoe then retook the lead soon after, only for Lee Hunter to square once more from the spot after Blyth had been fouled in the area.

The Planters pressed for the winner but had to settle for a point.

Wroxham travelled to Histon Reserves but returned without any points after a 2-1 defeat, P Cook scoring for the Yachtsmen.

In other Premier Division results, Kirkley & Pakefield beat hosts Woodbridge 3-1 (Decoteau, Jefford and Stock), Debenham LC were 3-0 winners over Felixstowe & Walton and Leiston beat FC Clacton 3-1 on the Essex coast.

Meanwhile, in Division One Swaffham returned from Team Bury with a 2-0 win, Cambridge University Press put four past visitors Halstead with no reply and Downham were 3-1 winners over visitors Godmanchester.

Swaffham's goals were both scored by Joe Jackson, who shot over the keeper for the first and netted a penalty after he was brought down from behind. There was fine keeping by the Pedlars' Craig Titmarsh.
