Wroxham have signed teenage striker Connor Ingram from Gorleston.

The 18-year-old made his debut for the Greens in March 2015 and has scored 45 goals in 90 appearances.

His talents earned him a trial with Ipswich Town a year ago and Wroxham’s gain will be seen as a big loss for new Gorleston boss Stewart Larter.

“We had recently offered Connor the opportunity to sign a contract with Gorleston,” said Larter in a statement on Gorleston’s official website.

“However, Connor decided earlier this week, on Wednesday, that he didn’t want to accept the offer. This is a personal decision that the club and management respect. We felt his development would be best suited at Gorleston and discussed this with both Connor and his dad. We would like thank Connor for his contribution to Gorleston and wish him all the best at his new club.”

Wroxham’s joint boss Tom Parke tweeted: “Welcome Connor. Good to be back working with you again. Great addition to a group of talented youngsters.”

His fellow boss Ross Potter added: “Buzzing we have got our man.”

The sixth-placed Yachtsmen are at home to third-placed Brantham Athletic on Saturday when they will be looking to escape the logjam that sees half a dozen clubs behind runaway leaders Felixstowe & Walton United all separated by just three points.

The Premier Division table doesn’t look good for other local clubs, with Gorleston down in 14th – they travel to Histon.

Kirkley & Pakefield – unbeaten in their last four league games – are at home to Newmarket Town, while Thetford need to arrest their slide down the table when they entertain bottom club Wivenhoe.

Great Yarmouth Town travel to Stanway Rovers, while Fakenham host second-placed Stowmarket Town.

In the First Division, second-placed King’s Lynn Town Reserves are at Team Bury and will be hoping Diss Town do them a favour when the Tangerines head to leaders Woodbridge Town. Swaffham, in fourth, are at home to Holland FC while sixth-placed Norwich CBS, who are making a good fist of their first season at this level, have a trip to Framlingham, who are fifth.
