RONNIE STANNARD

STANNARD RONNIE I walked through fields of rippling green, And stopped beside a quiet strem, The yellow willows gently weep, Above the waters pure and deep, Then on through golden fields of corn, That rippled on the sunlight morn. I walked through woods so dark and brown, Neath rays of sunlight shining down, The bluebells twinkled merrily, Oh it was such a joy to be, Beneath a sky of shimmering blue, And around the sun a golden hue. My friend who stood there by my side, These joys to me he had to confide, For though I saw them in my mind, My eyes are dull, yes I am blind. Author Big Mike Lane. Ronnie says thanks to all his friends, who donated £291.35 to Sight Savers on the occasion of his 90th Birthday.
