As a pageantmaster it was only to be expected that Bruno Peek would organise a banquet fit for a king to celebrate the coronation.
Mr Peek is hosting an invite-only coronation banquet at Great Yarmouth's Imperial Hotel on Monday.
And as Mr Peek, from Gorleston, watches the coronation beforehand on television it will be the first time in four decades as pageantmaster that he is not involved in a royal event.
Mr Peek, who played a pivotal role in the Queen's Platinum Jubilee celebrations last year, said: "After nearly four decades as a pageantmaster, organising national and international special occasions involving our late Queen Elizabeth II and other members of the Royal Family, this will be the first time that I shall be watching this national celebration instead of being involved in its organising.
"I am pleased to be able to bring something special to the occasion in Great Yarmouth and to have the opportunity with friends to raise a glass to the King and our new Queen, during this splendid coronation banquet I have organised at the Imperial Hotel in Great Yarmouth, my home town."
Invited guests, including the mayor of the borough Graham Plant, will enjoy a six-course menu devised by the Imperial Hotel’s executive chef, Peter Clarke.
Each dish has been selected for its royal connection, for example as dessert diners will enjoy a Royal Pavlova as Anna Pavlova was first cousin to Prince Philip.
Grant Smith, hotel director of the Imperial Hotel, said: We are delighted that such a wonderful celebration of the King’s coronation is taking place here in Great Yarmouth.
He said: "Each dish will be perfect and will linger long in the memories of all those lucky enough to attend – just as we know that the King’s coronation will do so for all of us.”
In March the ownership of the Imperial Hotel passed from the Mobbs family to Mr Smith and an employee trust.
